When Is It an Emergency? 10 Signs You Shouldn't Ignore

Pets often hide pain, so by the time a problem is obvious it may already be serious. If you notice any of the signs below, call our 24/7 line on +91 90525 18817 and head to the nearest Anicare branch.

1–5: Breathing, collapse and poisoning

Difficulty breathing or blue/pale gums; collapse or sudden weakness; seizures; suspected poisoning (rat poison, medicines, chocolate, grapes, insecticides); and a swollen, hard belly with unproductive retching.

6–10: Bleeding, pain and heat

Repeated vomiting or bloody diarrhoea; any road accident, fall or bite wound; straining without passing urine (especially in male cats); heatstroke after time in the sun or a car; and eye injuries or a suddenly cloudy eye.

What to do on the way

Keep your pet calm and warm, avoid giving food or human medicines, and bring any packaging if poisoning is suspected. Calling ahead lets our team prepare.
